A Tidbit from Mattias Adolfsson

A wonderful illustrator, Mattias Adolfsson, has shared a bunch of new sketches on his website, Mattias Inks.

One posting that really caught my eye is about the classic self-critical artist.
You can see the sketch at this link.

I have to say that as an artist, I can really identify with this approach. On the one hand, you must look at your work with excitement and creativity. On the other hand, you know that you can constantly be improving and doing even better work.
A continuation of the “tortured artist” cliche I suppose…
In any case, enjoy the sketch.
If you’re an artist, this is definitely something to print out and tape over your work area.
